Stoutie machines are temporarily being installed across various F&B venues in Dubai.

Created by stout beverage brand Guinness, the machine can print images and messages onto the foam top of a pint of Guinness. The name is a combination of stout and seflie, referencing the personal images people can imprint on their beverage.

The machine has already temporarily been housed in Nelson’s, Reform Social and Grill, The Huddle Sports Bar, Blackgoose, Mcgettigan’s, JB’s Gastropub, Cargo and Dhow & Anchor. Future venues include Barasti, Media One, The Duck Hook and Atlantis during March. The Irish Village outlets located in Garhoud and Studio City will be the permanent homes of the machine.

Using Ripples technology, the machine uses malt-based ink with inkjet printing to create the images. Wi-Fi connected, the device is counter-top sized and uses a touchscreen for image selection. The device has its own library of images and messages which can be printed, though users can create their own via a dedicated add.

The final leg of the machine’s tour will be at Atlantis on March 17.
