Ideal Standard is a leading supplier and manufacturer of total bathroom solutions. The company designs produces and sells a range of bathroom products from ceramic products to sanitary brass, acrylic bathtubs and accessories.

Speaking about the company’s participation at this year’s Hotel Show, marketing and innovation director Frederick Trzcinski said: “We are part of the Hotel in a different way this year. We don’t have a booth with a product display. We wanted to have something to differentiate ourselves from the competition so we are the main sponsor for the Middle East Housekeeping contest. That’s a nice way to display novelties and to have a great visibility for the brand.”

Trzcinski also gave some insight into the company’s latest development: “The big story this year is our partnership with Roberto Palomba. He’s a very famous Italian designer who has worked in this business for more than 25 years. He’s our chief design officer and the idea behind collaborating with him was to come back to design. It’s part of our DNA. As a start he took an iconic product of ours called Conca that he revamped and redesigned to come up with a product that you could see in your bathroom next year.”

Though the company specialises in design-led products, it also offers technologically advanced and sustainable solutions. Trzcinski says: “Fifty years ago we launched the ceramic disk cartridge in the market. It’s inside the fitting and it’s what put an end to the dripping taps. This is critical. We thought of sustainability 50 years ago. We are very conscious about sustainability and water consumption and so we have this in the back of our minds for each and every product. We think design and quality but the functionality is there even if the consumer doesn’t see it.”
