Ziad El Khoury, vice president of hotel operations at Abu Dhabi National Hotels, said: “We are thrilled to announce the re-opening of the distinguished Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel & Resort following its full renovation. This comes as part of Abu Dhabi National Hotels Company’s commitment to continuously elevate the guest experience with fresh offerings, while ensuring the familiar comforts of the brand. A fusion of old-world charm and modern culture, the hotel provides a place where guests will feel instantly at home whether travelling for business or leisure.”
Sheraton Abu Dhabi Hotel & Resort has been standing proud at the East end of the emirate’s Corniche since 1979, when it became the third international hotel to open in the capital.
It joined Hilton, which sat at the other end of the Corniche (and is now a Radisson Blu) and Le Méridien as the other big-name hotels.
In January 2021, Marriott International, which has owned the Sheraton brand following its acquisition of Starwood, announced it would be revamping Sheratons across the world.
