Here's who made it to the list
In the last year Kempinski Hotels SA has opened two hotels Emerald Palace Kempinski Dubai and The Residence at Kempinski Hotel Muscat, Oman. At the forefront of it all is the group’s chief operating officer- Middle East & Africa, Henk Meyknecht.
As a prominent figure in the regional hospitality industry, Meyknecht is no stranger to the Power 50 list. Out of the 25 years he has worked in the hospitality industry, he has spent seven years with Kempinski, three of those years as the COO.
Currently, the group operates 22 hotels with 5,400 rooms and has four hotels and 1,100 rooms in the pipeline.
Since he has been in office, the group has expanded in the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, Muscat, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Ghana and Congo. Kempinski plans to sign 30 properties within the next few years.
Currently under construction and set to join the group’s portfolio are hotels and residences in Medina, Mecca, Riyadh, Dubai Business Bay and Brazzaville.
