Qatar’s Hilton Salwa Beach Resort & Villas appoints new general manager

Borg has worked with Hilton for the past 15 years and moves from the Seychelles

Hilton Salwa Beach Resort & Villas has appointed Andre Borg as general manager.

Borg will spearhead all operational aspects of the 361-key Hilton Salwa Beach Resort & Villas, including overseeing marketing strategies and hotel administration to ensure exceptional guest services and satisfaction.

Borg has been in the industry for more than 25 years, including 16 years with Hilton, which began at Hilton Ras Al Khaimah Beach Resort in 2008. There, he was cluster food and beverage manager.

He later assumed roles such as director of operations at Athenee Palace Hilton Bucharest and hotel manager at Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus before embarking on his first general manager role at Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort and Spa, before taking on the role of area general manager.

Borg said: “I am honoured to have the opportunity to lead such an iconic property and work with a talented team dedicated to delivering unforgettable experiences for our guests. I look forward to building on the resort’s legacy of excellence and creating memorable moments for our guests.”

Hilton Salwa Beach Resort & Villas includes guest rooms, suites, apartments, townhouses, and private beachfront villas, along with 15 dining venues. There’s also a luxury spa, sports academy, water and adventure park, and over 12,900 sq ft of flexible meeting space.

Etienne-Charles Gailliez, Hilton’s country general manager for Qatar, said: “We are delighted to welcome Andre to Hilton Salwa Beach Resort & Villas, a resort which is particularly close to my heart. With his proven leadership skills and dedication to service excellence, we are confident that Andre will play a pivotal role in ushering the resort into a new era, further enhancing the guest experience and solidifying its position as a premier destination in the region.”

One of Borg’s proudest achievements is the establishment of the Fitir Academy in Seychelles. This initiative aims to equip young Seychellois with essential hospitality skills through structured learning programs, aligning with Hilton’s service culture and commitment to community development.
