Delta Hotels by Marriott, Jumeirah Beach sets example for sustainability
Since 2019, the hotel has been optimising its consumption of water, electricity, gas and natural resources. It has been using data analysis to see where it can best streamline its environmental goals and best use its resources.
Utilising the quieter times experienced during the pandemic, the hotel upgraded its systems with energy-saving measures. All the staircase lights were replaced with motion sensors to automatically dim them when no movement is detected. This has resulted in energy savings of 435.12 Kw per day, a total of 13 053.60 Kw per month.
To meet water-reduction targets, water-saving aerators were also fitted in the hotel’s guest rooms on wash basins, kitchen sinks, shower heads and bidet systems. Delta Hotels by Marriott now has a total water savings of 50 percent with a flow rate of 36.5 litre/minute as compared to previous flow rate of 72 litre/minute.
