An ardent supporter of Saudi hospitality, Muin Serhan this year has been one of the key initiators of Marriott’s Tahseen programme. The 12-month programme, designed in partnership with Cornell University, aims to develop the next generation of hospitality leaders. This year’s programme in Saudi Arabia, which also includes Bahraini nationals, will feature more than 37 new participants.
The programme is spread across all departments, underpinned by developing leadership skills through mentorship across Marriott properties.
Beyond his efforts in Saudisation, the GM has also worked to introduce sustainability projects such as launching the first ever electric vehicle charging station for commercial and residential use in Saudi Arabia as well as installing solar panel use across his properties to reduce the carbon footprint.
Even with five hotels, 13 restaurants, 1200 guest rooms and more than 700 staff, Muin has maximised every single inch of his cluster over the past 9 years.,” shared fellow GM Farhan Lone.
Lone added: “This has been the hallmark of all his actions in leading a diverse team of associates for a number of years in a challenging business climate. He displays a “never say no” attitude and goes to significant lengths to secure business and actualise leads into viable business opportunities.
“Additionally, his networking within the client and local communities and the respect he has garnered over the years show through in his business successes in terms of the new clients his operations have acquired and his business results
“His success speaks volumes about his knowledge and understanding of the market with his fingers constantly poised on the pulse of the constantly evolving business environment.”
