Doris Greif has returned to Dubai, five years after leaving her post as SVP operations for the entire Jumeirah Group.
Greif is now with IHG, taking on a new role as VP of luxury and lifestyle MEA, putting her in charge of Six Senses, Regent, InterContinental, Vignette Collection, Kimpton and Hotel Indigo.
Her most recent role was as managing director for Langham Hospitality, running its world-famous London property while also serving as regional VP of operations for Europe and Middle East. A Langham has since been confirmed for Diriyah Gate.
Doris Greif’s time with Jumeirah
In Dubai, Grief is best known for her long career with Jumeirah, joining the hotel group in 1999.
She spent time as executive assistant manager in charge of rooms at Jumeirah Beach Hotel, general manager of Jumeirah Beach Club Resort & Spa, general manager operations and general manager of Jumeirah Emirates Towers.
She left the company in 2008 to take on the role of COO – city operations at DIFC Investments LLC before re-joining Jumeirah in 2010 to become general manager of Jumeirah at Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi.
IHG’s luxury push
IHG’s luxury portfolio pipeline has been booming in recent years. The first Kimpton in the region was signed for Saudi Arabia earlier this month; in March, a Hotel Indigo was signed for the Kingdom; and a Vignette Collection was signed at the end of 2022 as well.
The operator also has two Six Senses coming to the Red Sea area, another in Diriyah Gate, and an InterContinental Resort in the Red Sea.
In Dubai, Six Senses is on the way to the Palm Jumeirah.
