W Amman has collaborated with street artist and muralist Dina Saadi to create a mural at the hotel's WET Deck.

Titled ‘Desert Nomad’, the mural is inspired by the history of Jordan, Petra and the Nabateans tribes, who depicted some of the earliest forms of wall art and graffiti across Petra and Wadi Rum, highlighting a deep local connection and the ancient desire for self-expression among the human race.

The fusion of traditional fabrics, colour, floral lines and Islamic geometrical patterns, tells the story of unity between past and present and tradition and modernity. The urban scenery and social diversity of Amman is also prominent through the cubic formation of the houses and a Middle Eastern woman’s face. The pink stone formation of ancient Petra also serves as inspiration for the mural's line work.

Speaking about her latest work, Saadi said: “I hope that the mural triggers a sense of connection and curiosity among guests, sparking their own inner desert nomad, to embark on a journey of discovery through the ancestral history and culture of Amman and Jordan, as well as the beauty of the desert. It also adds a bright new and uplifting vibe to the beautiful rooftop space for all to enjoy this summer and hope that it helps make it a special one."

Marriott International vice president, luxury brand marketing & management, Middle East & Africa Candice D'Cuz added: “We are thrilled to collaborate with Dina whose unique style and use of colour reflects W Hotels signature bold design and vibrant style. Design in the Middle East is evolving rapidly, providing a steady platform for emerging talent and self-expression.

"W Hotels is passionate in its endeavor to support the local design community and showcase the exceptional talent in the region through partnerships with up and coming artists like Dina."

The hotel has previously showcased artwork by Princess Fakhrel Nissa Raad and Zaina Al Said.
