Asian restaurant Sontaya will be providing two complimentary passes to the resort’s pool and beach for every four people at a table.

The hotel’s lobby will also introduce a festive-inspired afternoon tea for the occasion, including pastries, gingerbread loaf, yule log and a selection of savoury foods. Guests will also receive a themed ‘favour’ bag for booking an afternoon tea during the timeframe.

Moving away from F&B, the Iridium Spa will provide a complimentary 30-minute massage with a hamman experience booking. The experience comes with skin treatments, steaming, back, head or foot massage, along with access to the in-house Jacuzzi, sauna and steam room.

The beachside resort has 376 guestrooms, all with private terraces, a 3,500 square metre atheletic club, tennis and squash courts and six F&B venues.

Its general manager, Marwan Fadel spoke about the anniversary: “Over the past eight years, we have established this resort as a leader in the hospitality industry, setting new standards of excellence for the competitive Middle Eastern market. The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi has enjoyed the privilege of being the first property to bring many new concepts to Abu Dhabi and the region.”

Fadel continued: “Not only were we the first St. Regis Resort, but ours is the first Iridium Spa as well to launch in the region. We are home to the first permanent location in the world for the famed Buddha-Bar Beach concept. And, most recently, we opened the doors to the first MAZI to open outside of London and this exclusive venue is the pioneering restaurant in the MENA region to introduce modern Greek cuisine. It is truly an honor to be at the helm of the resort’s operations at such an exciting time.”
