Sontaya to host top chefs for Southeast Asian food festival
The restaurant is at The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi
Sontaya will be flying in guest chefs for its Taste of Southeast Asia gourmet journey at The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi.
From October 2019 up until January 2020, the award-winning Pan Asian restaurant will host guest chefs from top hotels in the Far East to create dedicated menus of the best dishes from Southeast Asian cuisines to Abu Dhabi.
The first leg of Taste of Southeast Asia will feature Malaysian dishes. Chef Mohamed Rasit from The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur will be creating these dishes from 7 to 11 October.
Served from 6.30 pm until 11.00 pm, the a la carte menu will feature a range of signature dishes, representing the best of Malaysian culture and cuisine.
Commenting on this, Chef Mohamed Rasit, said: “Malaysian food is a hub of different cultures and diverse flavours. The cuisine is distinct and vibrant owing to the unique blend of spices and cooking techniques.”
The gastronomic journey continues from 11 to 16 November with Thai Chef Phukvarun Watchmon of Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park, who brings with him a special menu of delicacies from Thailand.
For a taste of Indonesian favourites, Sontaya hosts Chef Made Wisnu Adiyatma from Renaissance Bali Uluwatu Resort & Spa from 9 to 13 December.
The final leg of the tour features a menu of Vietnamese dishes crafted by Chef Phuc Nguyen Minh of JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay Resort & Spa that will be available from 13 to 17 January, 2020.
Sontaya is also bringing it Asian Fusion Brunch back.
The Saturday brunch, served from 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm, offers a huge selection of Asian dishes like sushi and curries to duck pancakes. Make the most of your weekend with this set menu brunch, available for AED290 with soft drinks and AED415 inclusive of house beverages.
