The fine-dining Greek restaurant is set to open this October at the property
The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi will be launching the first branch of Greek restaurant, MAZI outside of London.
The owners of the restaurant, Christina and Adrien Mouratoglou have landed in UAE to introduce Greek flavors with their own twist on classic techniques and contemporary presentation using ingredients sourced directly from Greece.
MAZI’s co-owner, Christina Mouratoglou said: “Our vision is to show the world how innovative, refined and creative Greek food can be. We derive our inspiration from childhood memories and the Mediterranean table, and we reinterpret them with a contemporary twist. The idea is to revive Greece’s sharing culinary tradition in what we like to call a ‘fine-casual’ atmosphere. Our guests can expect to find a fun place to enjoy some great food combined with the intimate service of a fine-dining restaurant.”
The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort, Abu Dhabi’s general manager, Marwan Fadel said: “We are absolutely thrilled to add MAZI Abu Dhabi to the growing list of restaurants at our resort, which is already known to be a popular dining destination in Abu Dhabi. MAZI has gone from strength to strength since opening their doors in London offering truly authentic Greek cuisine with a twist. Their rapid success has meant that Abu Dhabi residents and visitors will soon have the opportunity to see for themselves why the restaurant is highly rated.
Set to open in the first week of October, 2019, the venue is home to an interior replete with elements like a traditional fishing boat at the entrance and door handles made of olive branches as well as a terrace that features tables distributed within a garden of olive trees. The restaurant can house up to 120 guests and features a bar area for sundowners.
