Time Hotels raises funds for children’s cancer hospital
The group has been working with the 57357 Hospital in Egypt for more than a year
Time Hotels has raised close to US$9,500 in funds for Egypt’s 57357 hospital, a centre specialising in treatment for children with cancer.
Working with the hospital for more than a year, Time Hotels’ contribution will help cover treatment costs, along with the costs of examinations, tests, scans and medicines.
Time Hotels CEO Mohamed Awadalla said: “Over the years, Time Hotels has been involved in a range of activities designed to give back to and support the communities we operate in. Everything we do is backed by our commitment to have a positive impact by adding value to people’s lives, through a combination of cash or in-kind donations, education and employee engagement activities.”
Within the UAE, the group has collaborated with the Emirates Nature – WWF charity to help raise more than $4,000. This money will go towards the Gulf Green Turtle project and the Marine Protected Areas Project.
“Donations for both initiatives were made online, through our website, and across our portfolio of hotels. Each Time Hotels property, as well as O’leary’s sports restaurant, had collection podiums and briefs explaining our collaboration with the children’s hospital and the marine conservation programme, as well as our various other CSR initiatives,” said Awadalla.
The Gulf Green Turtle project facilities research on the migration paths of green turtles in the Gulf, while the Marine Protected Areas project works to preserve the region’s marine ecosystems.
