Europe’s oldest hotelier is celebrating its 120th anniversary and to mark the occasion, Kempinski’s chief operating officer, Middle East and Africa, Henk Meyknecht, has once again made it into the top quartile of the Hotelier Middle East Power 50. Previously at number 25, this year the industry veteran has climbed three spots and makes the list at number 22.
Meyknecht brings more than 30 years of industry experience, and 10 years of Middle East experience, to his position at Kempinski Hotels in this region, where he oversees nearly 10,000 employees.
The operator’s philosophy is “small is beautiful”, and this can be seen in the company’s personalised service offering, as well as in its expansion into new destinations, according to Meyknecht.
“We apply an entrepreneurial approach to all of our commercial decisions, driven by our hoteliers, who embody a guest-centric approach. We may very well evolve room size or restaurant design going forward, but the core concept of luxury hospitality will always remain how we consistently provide an authentic and highly personal service to deliver beautiful performance to our guests,” he says.
