Cristal group currently manages five hotels, comprising 649 keys in the Middle East, with six hotels currently in the group’s pipeline.
Since joining the group eleven years ago, CEO Kamal Simon Fakhoury has led the group’s expansion in Iraq, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
In the last 12 months, the group has signed three properties — Bayat Hotel by Cristal, Khamis Mushayt and Bayat Suites by Cristal, Mohayil in Saudi Arabia; and Al Mahra Resort by Cristal, Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE.
Fakhoury was also tasked with introducing the group’s new mid-market brand, Emerald. A hotel in Erbil, Kurdistan has already opened, with further developments planned in the UAE, Saudi Arbia, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain and Iraq.
“Since taking on the role of CEO and navigating the company through two challenging years I am confident that the region has a bright future and we intend to grow with it,” Fakhoury informs Hotelier Middle East.
