It’s been a quiet year for Ayla Hotels & Resorts, after a busy 2017. Last year, the group opened its first five-star property, Ayla Grand Hotel in Al Ain. The hotel joined Ayla Hotel and Ayla Bawadi Hotel — both four-star properties, also located within Al Ain.
The group is also meant to open its first hotel in Djibouti — although previously earmarked for a late 2017 opening, no new opening date has been announced for the hotel yet. The 220-room property will mark Ayla’s international debut. Another hotel in the pipeline — the 85-key Ayla Ibri, is also slated to open this year.
Last year, Soussan told Hotelier Middle East that the group’s plans for a resort in Hili, Al Ain, were temporarily on hold, with the project’s site already confirmed but the company just “waiting for the right time”.
