Ayla Hotels & Resorts is on track with expansion plans outside the UAE, with openings in Djibouti and Ibri, Oman, due within the next 12 months.
The Al Ain-based hotel management company currently operates three properties in its home city: the four-star Ayla Hotel and Ayla Bawadi Hotel, and the group’s first five-star property, Ayla Grand Hotel, which opened in April 2017.
The new, 85-key Ayla Ibri, set to open in Oman, is tentatively planned to be a four-star property, and will be housed within a multi-use building that will also comprise a shopping mall, Soussan says. The group is also on track to open its 220-key Djibouti property later this year, marking Ayla’s international debut.
“Being a co-founder of the company has made me committed to [the goal of reporting] back with growing revenue to our owners,” Soussan adds.
However, in the UAE, Soussan told Hotelier Express in July that the group’s plans for a resort in Hili, Al Ain, were temporarily on hold, with the project’s site already earmarked but the company just “waiting for the right time”.
