Dusit International is in an important growth phase, which will see the company’s current portfolio of 27 hotels surpass 70 worldwide within the next four years.
Regional vice president Prateek Kumar, who joined the company last year, is responsible for strengthening Dusit’s Dubai operations and supporting the group’s development efforts in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
With five operational hotels accounting for 1,641 rooms, and eight more in the pipeline, Dusit will add another 2,007 rooms to its inventory across Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Tanzania, Kenya and Ethiopia.
Earlier this year, the group unveiled plans for a second hotel project in Bahrain, Dusit Resort and Spa Lagoona Beach, comprising 174 seafront apartments, as well as a water park. The hotel will join DusitD2 Seef Bahrain, which is scheduled to open in Manama this year.
Dusit International has also launched a new hotel brand, Asia Hotels, which is geared specifically towards millennial travellers.
According to a statement by the group, Asia Hotels will be a sustainable, community-focused concept, with each property designed to reflect the culture and heritage of its location through collaborations with local artisans.
