Patrick Heuze enters the Power 50 for the first time this year having succeeded Marc Dardenne as chief executive officer of Emaar Hospitality Group, the company behind The Address Hotels + Resorts, Armani Hotel Dubai and a variety of leisure assets.
The promotion brings Heuze to the forefront of Emaar’s hospitality business, which continues to go from strength to strength and has cemented Downtown Dubai as yet another must-visit destination for tourists to the emirate.
Heuze joined Emaar Hospitality Group in September 2007 and was instrumental in leading the project and development division of the Group.
In his former role as chief operating officer, he is credited with maximising the performance of Emaar Hospitality Group assets, which include The Address Hotels + Resorts, Nuran Serviced Residences, Arabian Ranches Golf Club, Dubai Polo & Equestrian Club, and Dubai Marina Yacht Club.
After a spate of openings in 2009 and 2010, new launches from the group have slowed, however, in 2013, Heuze is expected to lead the expansion of The Address brand abroad with the opening of The Address Jnan Amar Marrakech, a polo retreat in Morocco, and The Address Domaine De Lavagnac, a luxury golf and spa resort in Languedoc, France.
Emaar will also be opening its second hotel in collaboration with Giorgio Armani by the end of 2011, this time in Milan, Italy.
