Ziyad Ahmed Bin Mahfouz was appointed president of Elaf Group of Companies in 2008 and joined its board of directors in 2010.
With a background in banking, Bin Mahfouz boasts a great deal of experience in marketing, finance and financial services.
It’s held him in good stead as he has overseen the steady expansion of the Elaf Group of Companies, with the 13 properties under his remit, all in Saudi Arabia.
He is currently in the process of negotiating a further four hotels in Riyadh, Dammam, Khobar and Jazan — deals it is hoped will give the company a strong foothold within KSA in the coming years. Opening before the end of 2014, Galleria in Jeddah will serve as a luxury retail mall complete with a five-star hotel, which will be managed by Elaf Group.
While the future is very much the focus for Bin Mahfouz, there have been some highlights to enjoy over the last 12 months.
The company achieved SR 1 billion (US $266 million) in revenue and opened its largest property in Makkah, boasting more than 1500 rooms. A further property, the Elaf Bakkah hotel, situated at Mahbas Al-Jin Area, in Makkah al-Mokarramah, opened with 810 rooms spread across 15 levels with 22 elevators.
