Since his appearance on last year’s list, Glenn de Souza has been busy directing Best Western’s brand management and development across the Middle East, with seven new hotels signed in Saudi Arabia alone.
As vice president for international operations — Asia and Middle East, De Souza also manages the group’s regional sales and marketing efforts for its current eight Middle Eastern hotels across Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Jordan and Bahrain, totalling 900 rooms.
So far this year, the group has debuted in Kuwait with the launch of the Best Western Mahboula, and in Makkah with the Best Western Plus Bakkah Awan Hotel. All three Best Western brands (Best Western, Best Western Plus and Best Western Premier) are now present in the region.
Having been with Best Western International for more than 10 years now, De Souza first set up the company’s Asia & Middle East headquarters in Bangkok in 2002 and held various leadership positions in Best Western’s Asia office developing sales and marketing schemes.
