A veteran of the Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts family, Simon Casson has spent 24 years with the hotel group, working in properties across North America, Europe and the Middle East.
Currently juggling dual roles as regional vice president and GMof the Four Seasons Hotel Doha, Casson will soon take the helm as GMof Four Seasons Resort Dubai, scheduled to open on the city’s Jumeirah Beach Road late next year.
Casson will continue to fulfil his role as regional VP, overseeing Four Seasons Hotels in Damascus, Beirut, Riyadh, Baku and Tanzania, in addition to the Dubai property. He will move to Dubai in November 2013 to lead the pre-opening team as it prepares to enter the competitive market. A “pinnacle career moment” for him, there is no doubt in Hotelier’s mind that Casson will do everything he can to “get it right”.
In his role as regional vice president, which he took over in 2011, Casson has provided guidance and assistance to the challenged Egyptian and Syrian markets, as well as Lebanon and Jordan, visiting all four hotels on multiple occasions.
The brand has six properties in the pipeline including the Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay, due to open mid-2014, and Four Seasons Hotel Casablanca, also due to open in 2014. Four Seasons Hotel Abu Dhabi at Al Maryah Island, Four Seasons Hotel Kuwait at Burj Alshaya and Four Seasons Hotel Riyadh at Kingdom Oasis are in the preliminary stage.
In June this year, Four Seasons announced a third addition to its growing Moroccan collection with plans to open a new property in the resort town of Agadir on Morocco’s Atlantic coast. The resort is expected to open in 2016.
