Waiters from eight hotels ran through the streets of Al Barsha Heights balancing trays stacked with glasses earlier in November.
Organised and coordinated by TIME Oak Hotels & Suites, contestants ran a circuit of 720 metres with one arm behind their backs and the other holding the tray.
Not only was speed measured, but the amount of water remaining in the glass was also measured.
The hotels included Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Two Seasons Hotel & Apartments, Citadines Metro Central, JA Resorts & Hotels, O’Learys Sports Restaurant, TIME Oak Hotel & Suites, TIME Grand Plaza Hotel and TIME Dunes Hotel Apartments.
Of all the contestants, Christy Sardauna Garba of Two Seasons Hotel & Apartments came first place, followed by Mohammad Muzambeer from Citadines Metro Central Hotel, and Moustafa Altayeb Moustafa, from O’Learys Sports Restaurant
TIME Hotel’s CEO, Mohamed Awadalla, commented: “The annual Waiters’ Race is now firmly fixed in the hotel sector’s calendar as one of the most anticipated competitions in the emirate, and this year was no different with participants from a range of hotels eager to show off their speed and best waiting skills.”
