Some Oman restaurants still adding service charge

A new rule regarding service charge came into effect last year when the Sultanate's tourism law was amended

The Public Authority for Consumer Protection (PACP) has urged diners to report restaurants in Oman that still add an 8% service charge to bills, reports Times of Oman.

A new rule regarding service charge came into effect last year when the Sultanate’s tourism law was amended.

Hotel restaurants, or outlets in tourist areas, can still ask customers to pay a service charge, according to the PACP.
