Miramar Al Aqah Beach Resort hosts culinary contest
The eighth run of the competition saw the resort bagging 40 medals
Miramar Al Aqah Beach Resort recently held their eight East Coast Culinary & Cocktail Competition. At the event, international hotels & restaurants showcased static culinary displays, edible arrangements and mixology.
Each competition is called a ‘class’. Each class of the various competitions is intended to test the differing skills of entrants whilst also celebrating the preparation and aesthetic presentation of food and its accoutrements. Competitors were evaluated by a panel of chefs and marshals mandated by the Emirates Culinary Guild.
With a record-breaking array of 18 categories and over 350 chefs competing for the 95 Emirates Culinary Guild medals, Miramar Al Aqah Beach Resort bagged 40 medals- awarding it first place at the competition. The event is part of the hotel’s CSR programs.

Prasad, vice president for ECG for east coast and director of culinary, Miramar Al Aqah Beach Resort said: “It’s an incredible honor for me to be a part of Miramar Al Aqah Beach Resort’s East Coast Culinary & Cocktail Competition- it represents everything I believe in as a chef.” He is also the organiser & founder of the East Coast Culinary & Cocktail Competition, which attempts to raise the standards of culinary excellence.
This year’s competition showcased new trends, classical skills, static displays, live cooking, pastry-making and more.
Organisers and sponsors of the event have said that they received over a thousand visitors to the competition, many of whom hoped to glimpse the celebrity chefs in action. The competition attracted over one hundred senior chefs internationally and many premium local and international suppliers who showcased their products with a live tastings.
