The Richemont Masterbaker Pastry & Baking Championships is set to return for 2019 and the hunt is on to find the region’s next pastry & baking champion.

Partnered with Hotelier Middle East, the competition will run for its second consecutive year and entrants have until the 27 June 2019 to enter.

The Richemont Masterbaker Pastry & Baking Championship is open to all levels of professional baking and pastry chefs. To enter this year’s championships, all registrants will be sent an online theory test to complete by 1 July 2019.

This is a timed online test designed to show your technical knowledge in either the baking or pastry category. You will be asked to answer 10 multiple choice questions in 15 minutes. The chefs who achieve the highest scores will progress to the live heats.

Following the online test, 12 bakers and 12 pastry chefs will compete in live heats on the 3 and 4 September 2019, four bakers and four pastry chefs with the highest scores from the live heats will go through to the final heats on 1 and 2 October 2019.

A panel of judges will score finalists on several criteria and winners will be announced at the Pro Chef Middle East Awards 2019.
