Rixos Hotels and Resorts continues to expand across the emirates with the latest signing of Rixos Marina Abu Dhabi. The city property will open this quarter, and rather than being fully all-inclusive by default, it will offer “Multi-Board Experiences.”
This means guests can opt for only a room, or they can pay more for half board, full board or all-inclusive packages. Rixos says the experience “is designed to meet the needs of all types of travellers. This experience enables guests to discover a sense of freedom and explore a world of possibilities.”
Rixos resorts in the UAE such as Rixos Premium Saadiyat Island, Rixos Bab Al Bahr and Rixos Dubai The Palm, are all all-inclusive by default. Meanwhile, fellow Rixos city property Rixos Premium Dubai in JBR does not have all-inclusive packages.
Rixos Marina Abu Dhabi facilities
Being a Rixos, the upcoming Marina property will boast a myriad of dining outlets and entertainment facilities. There will be a dedicated entertainment square in which DJs will play; a beach club; a VIP pier bar poised for events, parties and those looking for an “ultra-luxury experience,” promised Rixos.
For families, a spray-action pool and a kid’s pool will be featured on the property. The outdoor recreation area will offer a wellness bar and outdoor gym facilities, including exercise equipment and a studio for aerobics, yoga and private fitness sessions.
Vision for Rixos
“We are clearly seeing an increasing demand for all-inclusive resorts throughout our destinations, as the leading hospitality group in the region, we are always doing our best to meet our guest’s expectations,” said Mark Willis, CEO of Accor India, Middle East, Africa & Turkey. “We couldn’t think of a better brand than Rixos to bring a new All Exclusive luxurious resort to the Marina of Abu Dhabi.”
HH Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan added: “We are delighted to have partnered with the Accor and Rixos Hotels to operate one of the luxurious hotels in the Capital “Rixos Marina Abu Dhabi Hotel”. This development will further enhance the vision of the National Investment Corporation, the developer of Marina Island – Abu Dhabi to provide a luxury waterfront destination. We look forward to achieving many milestones with our partners in the future.”
Rixos as an F&B expert
In an interview with Hotelier Middle East earlier this year, Rixos Premium Dubai GM Turgay Erdogan explained that even without all-inclusivity, Rixos is still a leader in F&B.
He said: “As Rixos is as an all-inclusive brand, we get a lot of questions at this hotel. People had visited the resorts in Sharm El Sheikh or on the Palm and they asked why we weren’t all-inclusive. The commitment to F&B still stands here – our staff know all the restaurants inside and out, and they can give all the information you need.
“But it’s not just F&B Rixos is known for, it’s also the entertainment. We provide daily entertainment from 9am to 5pm. When you go to other hotels, there might be an extra fee for entertainment, which doesn’t happen in these restaurants. This supports the vision of Rixos and our commitment to entertainment.”
