The Ministry of Health and Prevention and the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority have announced the temporary closure of all leisure sites in the country.

Effective today, sites will remain closed for a period of two weeks as part of the UAE’s ongoing measures to control the spread of COVID-19.

Public and private beaches, parks, swimming pools, movie theatres, and sports halls and lounges will all close.

According to state news agency WAM, the two authorities have urged all relevant institutions to comply with the decision.

In the same statement, the authorities said F&B venues in the UAE can now only use 20% of their seat capacity, though this does not apply to outdoor venues.
