Organisers of the upcoming Arabian Travel Market (ATM) trade event this year have assured it will go ahead as usual.

In a statement issued to sister publication Arabian Business, organisers the event will still take place, though they care carefully monitoring the coronavirus situation.

Events across the region have either been cancelled or postponed recently either due to the coronavirus situation or travel restrictions slashing visitation numbers.

ATM’s statement said: “The safety of all our participants is an absolute priority and we are monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely and liaising with the relevant United Arab Emirates and Dubai authorities on a regular basis. We will keep you informed of any new developments.”

Arabian Business noted that the annual travel event draws in more than 39,000 attendees each year.

The event is scheduled to take place at the Dubai World Trade Centre from April 19 to 22.
