Tourism in Oman has created 16,487 jobs for Omanis as of mid-2019, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Tourism.

According to a report in the Times of Oman, the country has been actively investing in tourism and began employing around 140 Omanis since the beginning of 2019 until August as part of the National Programme for Promoting Economic Diversification

The ministry of tourism revealed that a total of 11,868 men comprising 72% and 4,619 women comprising 28% were appointed by the ministry. The hotel industry provided 4,557 job opportunities.
