Number of Saudi tourists visiting Turkey on the decline

However, Turkey registered a growth in the number of international tourists

The number of tourists from Saudi Arabia visiting Turkey has declined by 33.2%, data from Federation of Hotel Owners in Turkey revealed.

The number of Saudi tourists to Turkey during the first six months of 2019 was 122,115. During the same period last year the total number of Saudi tourists was 182,689, the Saudi Gazette reported.

According to data, Saudi moved from the fourth position to the 10th.

International tourists on the rise

Data also revealed that the number of foreign visitors to Turkey in May 2019 rose by 9.35% when compared to the same period last year.

During the January-May 2019 period the number of foreign visitors increased by 11.3% in comparison to 2018.

Turkey’s top tourism markets during January-May 2019 were Russia Fed., followed by Germany, Bulgaria, Iran and Georgia.
