Danube enters MENA hospitality sector with $5m investment
The business has created Danube Hospitality Solutions, who will work with 18 hotel brands across the region
Building material company Danube has invested $5m to create hospitality brand Danube Hospitality Solutions and will work with 18 “high-profile” hotel brands across the region.
Danube Hospitality Solutions will specialise in the service segment of the hospitality sector and will provide hotels with furniture, fixtures and equipment, as well as operating supplies.
Speaking exclusively to Hotelier Middle East, Danube Hospitality Solutions director Shubhojit Mahalanobis said the brand is in talks with many of the Middle East’s major hotel chains, as well as chains in India and Africa.
“With the growing trend of new properties coming up in the region and tourism being the centre point across every growing economy, we are surely going to be a game changer in this industry.”
“Hotels are growing at a very rapid speed as we expect 180 properties to open in the next two years in the Middle East.”
Danube’s hospitality venture materialised from the firm’s founder and chairman Rizwan Sajan, who revealed that the company expected a “huge turnover” from the brand and aspired to build a Danube-branded hotel.
“The proposal of this venture came to me around a year, and if successful, we could be building a hotel when the time is right.
The hospitality brand was officially launched at the Danube Home Showroom in Al Barsha, Dubai during a press conference on 26 June 2019.
