The Ministry of Tourism in Oman has extended the deadline for tourism investment bids. The deadline has been extended from 21 June 2019 to 25 July 2019, the Ministry announced.

According to a report by Muscat Daily, five tourist sites — Wadi Bani, Al Ashkharah beach in the wilayat of Jalaan Bani Bu Ali, Sahour Cave in Salalah, Al Kittan Cave and Harat al Ramil in the wilayat of Ibri in Dhahirah governorate — are available for investment.

Recently, a royal directive that gives tax breaks to new investors who establish tourism initiatives in the governorate of Musandam, Oman has been announced.

The royal decree that was issued by Oman’s ruler HM Sultan Qaboos Bin Said is aimed at boosting Musandam’s tourism segment “while also driving in potential investment opportunities”.

Under the decree, investors will now be allowed exemption from customs duties covering building materials, tools and equipment that are essential during the construction phase of their tourism-related projects.
