Jumeirah Group rolls out MICE offerings across Abu Dhabi

Move to help connect healthcare, oil and gas, aviation and aerospace, education sectors, says Abu Dhabi Tourism director

Global luxury hotel group Jumeirah Group has unveiled “diverse” meetings, incentives conferences and events (MICE) offerings across its new hotel portfolio in Abu Dhabi, the group revealed in a statement.

The newly opened hotels include Jumeirah At Saadiyat Island Resort and Jumeirah Al Wathba Desert Resort & Spa,  the Jumeirah Al Wathba, Jumeirah at Saadiyat Island and Jumeirah at Etihad Towers in the heart of the capital.

According to the statement,  the move is expected to attract the MICE industry both locally and internationally.

Jose Silva, CEO of Jumeirah Group, said: “Abu Dhabi is now seen as a leading MICE destination in the region and with its burgeoning reputation as a cultural hub and success in hosting many major global sporting events. We expect to see this growth continue.”

The move to increase the UAE capital’s MICE offerings will help connect the healthcare, oil and gas, aviation and aerospace, education sectors, according to Mubarak Al Shamisi, Abu Dhabi Convention & Exhibition Bureau Director at the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi).

“The Jumeirah Group’s cutting-edge infrastructure and initiatives will help the UAE capital to host the most important international conferences, business events and exhibitions in the world today,” he added.

According to the group, the focus of the MICE offerings supports Abu Dhabi’s Economic Vision 2030 and looks to capitalizing on the 7% annual growth forecasted for MICE in the capital.
