The Kingdom of Bahrain’s national carrier Gulf Air, announced that it has increased baggage allowance for all college and university students.

Students can now carry an additional 23 kg bag for free.

According to the airline, the new rule is applicable to all undergraduate and postgraduate students who have a valid college id card and who will be “flying between any points within the airline’s global network”.

Speaking about the new rule, Krešimir Kučko, Gulf Air CEO said: “ We know that students need more luggage to carry their books, laptops, winter clothes and so on. Now, we want to make things easier for all students by allowing one extra bag of 23 kilos for each student flying to college or returning home for the summer”.

Earlier this year Gulf Air increased the baggage allowance for athletes allowing them to travel with their golf bags or bicycles free of charge.
