Appointment: Laurence Udo
Doha Marriott Hotel appoints pr and marketing communications manager
The Doha Marriott Hotel announces the appointment of Laurence Udo as Public Relations & Marketing Communications Manager and is pleased to welcome her to the team.
French born, Laurence has spent the last five years in London, UK, working as Marketing Manager for Marriott Vacation Club, the Holiday Ownership branch of Marriott International. With her wealth of Marketing experience and knowledge, she will be focusing on completing and maximizing all marketing plans for the property, managing all media and e-commerce opportunities but also developing good working relationships with all community leaders and stakeholders.
Laurence had an unusual upbringing and grew up overseas, first spending her childhood on the beautiful island of La Reunion in the Indian Ocean. Then, her parents took all the family to Africa where she spent the next 6 years in Chad and the following 2 in the Congo, which is probably when she got the virus for traveling the world and discovering as many places as possible. Aged 18, she went back to France to pursue her studies and obtained her master degree in International Business with a specialization in Marketing from ESDES Lyon (Business School of Management). As part of her degree, she spent a year in the UK at the University of Essex and a year as a trainee in a bank in Munich, Germany.
She has wanted to move and establish herself in the Middle East for some time but was waiting for the right opportunity and the most exciting challenge. “I am very proud and honored to be joining the Doha Marriott family; the hotel is a magnificent property which has so much to offer. I am also very happy to be here in Doha at this booming period in the history of Qatar. I love the fact that as a city Doha embraces both its traditional roots, while seamlessly integrating heritage with luxury and modernism. The bubbling city is for me a very exciting place to live and stay and it has welcomed me in the Arabic traditions of hospitality”, explains Laurence.
