The Palace bags first Green Globe in Middle East

The Palace - The Old Town gets nod from web-based system

The Palace — The Old Town in Dubai has become the first hotel in the Middle East to be awarded the Green Globe Certification.

The certification process was spearheaded by The Palace director of engineering, Abdul Quddus Sheikh, with recognition given after the hotel’s sustainability initiatives were tested against 248 standards, which were monitored via a web-based system. It recognises the property’s dedication to keeping carbon emissions low, tracking energy and water consumption and recycling materials, as well as reducing the consumption of non-recyclable products.
