Travellers to Oman should apply for visas in advance

Visa application fees for visitors from outside the GCC were also increased

According to Arabian Business, Oman's officials are confirming that visitors to the country will need to apply for visas a week in advance of travel.

The Royal Oman Police issued a statement, published by the Times of Oman, which said: "It is recommended to have the application sent at least one week before you travel." The statement said that this applies to travellers who with tourist and express visas which need to be used "one month from the date of issue".

Visa application fees for visitors from outside the GCC were also increased from OR5 (US$13) to OR20 ($52).
