Rove Dubai Marina, part of Rove Hotels & Resorts under the Emaar Hospitality Group, walked away with the first Mid-Market Hotel of the Year title at the Hotelier Middle East Awards.

The three-star hotel is fairly new and opened its doors in April 2018. With 386 rooms, the hotel has 71 staff members or ‘Rovesters’ as they like to call themselves. Even though it has only a few months under its belt, the property has managed to garner positive reviews on TripAdvisor and Facebook among the mid-scale hotels in Dubai.

The home-grown brand encourages its staff to provide casual and relaxed, fuss free service and without the usual sir and ma’am, its nomination stated.

When asked about the win, one of the team members said: “As a brand it doesn’t really matter what segment you are in but you have to make sure you are true to your brand, which will automatically make you part of the area. If we tried to be someone different that would not suit us and we just really as a home grown brand.”

Commenting on the quality of the workforce at the hotel, its nomination stated: “Rove Dubai Marina is a special hotel, because it comes across as a stylish Art hotel with a boutique soul, although it has 386 rooms. We care for each and every Rover (Guest) passing through our door and make it our mission to create new roving fans. We achieve this through our most important asset, which is of course the team of people caring and serving. The team is a happy bunch, which we measure on a daily basis through our Pulse survey.”

The team from Rove Dubai Marina received the award from Cedric Shearer, general manager at City Sightseeing at the ‘Taste of India’ themed affair on October 24, 2018 at the Le Méridien Dubai Hotel & Conference Centre.

The highly commended in this category was awarded to the ‘Trypsters’ from Tryp by Wyndham, Dubai, UAE.
