Seven finalists in the IT Person of the Year category for the 2018 edition of the Hotelier Middle East Awards

Anthony Lynsdale, VP of Information Technology, Atlantis, The Palm: 

With 18+ years of multi-functional experience, Lynsdale began his Dubai-based IT career at Jumeirah Group in 2008, starting as IT Service Desk Manager and moving to Director of IT Customer Service in just four years. By 2012 Lynsdale was promoted to IT Program Director and then IT PMO Director in 2014, reporting to the CIO and managing a team of five Business System Architects and SME’s. In 2015, Lynsdale took the role of Director of IT at the Five/Viceroy Palm Jumeirah to develop the IT pre-opening, before joining Atlantis, The Palm as Vice President of IT in 2016.

Binosh Moothedan, Director, IT Shared Services Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts: 

Binosh Moothedan joined Mövenpick as IT Manager in 2014. He was promoted to director of IT Shared Services at Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts’ Dubai corporate office in 2017, after successfully setting up the company’s IT Shared Services Centre and expanding the operation to the next level. In his current role, he leads the company’s 24/7 Shared Service Centre, serving 200 locations in 30 countries around the world. A native of Kerala, India, Moothedan moved to Dubai as an office boy in a contracting company with nothing but a high school diploma in his hand. Making matters more challenging, he only spoke Malayalam, his native language. He completed his Microsoft qualification courses as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Applications. Before joining Mövenpick, he worked as assistant IT manager for Madinat Jumeirah Resort from 2013 to 2014, and as assistant IT manager for Jumeirah Group Service Desk from 2012 to 2013.

Fadi Al Chami,  IT & Recreation Manager, Crowne Plaza Sohar: 

Fadi Al Chami is instrumental in leading several major projects of the hotel. In order to ensure safe and fast transaction, he led the team in replacing the firewall, Meraki to Cisco Meraki Security Appliances. Because of this initiative, this Cisco Meraki Security Appliances can be deployed in minutes using zero-touch cloud provisioning.
Fadi Al Chami, IT & Recreation Manager, Crowne Plaza Sohar: Fadi Al Chami is instrumental in leading several major projects of the hotel. Keith L’Esteve, group IT director, Fairmont Dubai, Fairmont Ajman, Fairmont Fujairah: 

Keith joined Fairmont Dubai’s pre-opening phase in 2002 as IT technician and held that position for 6 years until he became a line administrator. In 2009, he was promoted to assistant IT manager and made Fairmont Dubai the very first hotel in UAE to offer free WiFi throughout the hotel. In 2011 he took on IT Manager’s position, followed by a cluster IT manager role a year later, leading a team of 15 colleagues across two properties. In 2015, he got an additional responsibility – to open a 254-key Fairmont Ajman, which rewarded him with a promotion to cluster IT director. In 2016, he opened 188-key Fairmont Fujairah, and he completed IT implementations with only one additional colleague in record time of 45 days. Throughout his 16-year tenure, he has successfully managed the expectations of owners, suppliers and guests alike. His initiatives include implementing solutions that bring tremendous savings; introducing latest technology and executing pilot projects to constantly enhance guest experience.

Vises Kith, resort director of information technology, Madinat Jumeirah: 

Vises Kith has very strong experience on IT projects ranging from small to large scale. He has completed the IT renovation project for Al Qasr Hotel in the last quarter of 2017 by managing the MEP sub contractor, IT vendor, critical path and proper execution on the project timeline. He led the upgrade of a new guest-facing in-room IT system to seamless technology including brand new hospitality televisions, telephones, wireless access points, media hubs, GRMS systems, and network infrastructure for this project.

Since then he has now worked with five hotels in Dubai and three in the pipeline. He was involved in preparing IT budgets for all the hotels and executing complex projects by presenting them to the owners & stakeholders and getting project approvals.

Roy Chacko, Technology Manager, InterContinental Regency Bahrain: 

Roy Chacko joined InterContinental Regency Bahrain in 2002 as System Administrator. In 2006, Roy continued his success journey by going above the expectation in terms of technology knowledge resulting to well-deserved promotion as Assistant IT Manager. After extensive managerial and leadership trainings, Roy was promoted in 2012 as IT Manager. He had been mastered in different areas of information technology and had acquired a broader field expertise. Three years later, Roy was promoted once more to Technology Manager this time, where he continue overlooking at the entire hotel technology measures in an appropriate way with efficiency and profitability to the hotel.
