Swissotel Al Ghurair, Dubai appoints new director of rooms

Swissôtel Al Ghurair has appointed Gokce Karakus as director of rooms. Karakus will oversee the rooms division operation of front office, housekeeping and Swissôtel Spa & Sport.

Karakus brings with him more than 10 years of experience in rooms operations in Turkey and first started his journey with the Swissôtel brand in 2008 in Swissôtel Buyuk Efes Izmir, Turkey as a Receptionist.

He has previously held various positions as front office supervisor, assistant front office manager and front office manager. Karakus also oversaw the pre-opening operations of Fairmont Quasar Istanbul in 2016 as director of rooms and executive committee member.

Prior to joining Swissôtel Al Ghurair, Karakus worked with persona human resources as a general manager and partner and built the entire operational flow of integrating financial and operational software for luxury and upper class brands including Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Wyndham Worldwide and St. Regis Hotels & Resorts, a statement said.

Karakus holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Ege University, Izmir, Turkey and has completed a Bachelor of Arts from Dokuz Eylul University, Izmir, Turkey in Tourism and Hotel Management.
