Aparthotel Adagio Premium Dubai al Barsha was awarded with the Serviced Apartment Team of the Year at Hotelier Express Awards 2018. The team was recognised for its numerous corporate social responsibility initiatives (CSR) as well as for its guest satisfaction.

After winning the award the hotel general manager, Philippe Montaubin told Hotelier Middle East he was elated about the win. He said: “Right now my heart is beating very fast. But I am very excited and very proud of my team.”

The French national credited his team’s effort for the hotel’s initiatives, “We work very well together. We have one mission and a passion and that is to take of our guests not only on the satisfaction level but also taking care of the environment. And that’s why we’ve been recognised as number one in the UAE.”

The service apartment, which is part of AccorHotels, follows “Planet 21,” the sustainable development programme and was recognised for its CSR efforts last year. In 2017, Adagio Premium Al Barsha received the TripAdvisor certificate of excellence and also won DTCM CSR Record Holder Award 2017 - a key achievement which recognises innovative solutions and valuables projects implemented through the year.

Commenting on some of the past initiatives, Montaubin said: “Some of the initiatives we were part of include blood donations, clothes drive, waste, etc. I have to say book donation was a very popular one.”

The Books2Benefit project is a charity book sale event aimed at raising funds and awareness in support of any deserving local charity. The initiative also encourages people of all age group to develop a regular reading habit.

Montaubin added that the award is just the beginning and the hotel plans to continue the CSR efforts next year. “It’s part of our DNA. Not only for our brand, but also the company. It’s part of the pillars that are implanted in us so this is only the beginning for us. It’s not a one-shot thing – it’s going to continue,” he added.

Apatrhotel Adagio Dubai was presented the award by Tint and highly commended was Gloria Hotels & Resorts – which was the hotel’s second nod for the same recognition (see the full shortlist here).

The Hotelier Express Awards 2018 took place at the Grosvenor House Dubai on February 28, 2018, and was supported by a range of industry partners including: A. Ronai, Duni, Diversey, Guest Supply, MMI, OSN For Business, and Tint.
