German foodservice equipment manufacturer Rational Kitchen & Catering Equipment Trading FZCO is bullish on the prospects of the mid-market hotel industry and is demonstrating its enthusiasm with its strategic sponsorship of the Hotelier Express Summit 2017, scheduled for November 22 at Grosvenor House, Dubai.Managing director Simon Parke-Davis said: "We at Rational are excited by the budget and mid-market hotel industry as we feel this is where the biggest gaps can be closed in the shortest time, due to efficient decision processes and value recognition over price orientation. The wish is to deliver the best experience for guests at the most realistic price threshold."He added: "We can deliver this consistently with our SelfCookingCenter and VarioCooking Center products and ensure high quality and savings that are supported by a local network of experts for cooking and service as well as over 40 years of global experience that we are eager to share willingly."

Mindful of the current challenges being faced by hoteliers in the UAE, with increasing supply and competition, Parke-Davis said that companies like his can help hotels to differentiate, which is why he stated that Rational's presence at the 2017 Hotelier Express Summit is strategically important.

"The main challenges for hoteliers in the UAE is differentiation, as competition is becoming tougher and guests are becoming more discerning towards levels of service and the offerings made. This has to be meticulously enforced with high levels of support and service to ensure they are able to deliver perfect results with efficiency and consistency with reduced down time or stress."

Of the rationale behind his company's support of the 2017 Hotelier Express Summit, Parke-Davis said: "Rational has a clear vision and strategy to deliver the most customer benefits to those people working in commercial kitchens globally, by supporting the regions locally with the best product for a fair price and the capital invested in local specialists for application and service. This is important to us that all segments are aware of the benefits available to them in their kitchens, especially with the age of digitalisation rapidly approaching."

Rational is eager to showcase its new products, Parke-Davis said.

"Rational has set a new standard with the recently launched SelfCookingCenter and CombiMaster Plus models, which once again significantly increase customer benefits. This is the result of 40 years of research into cooking at Rational."

"In addition, we introduced the first professional compact appliances with a fresh steam generator onto the market in the form of the SelfCookingCenter XS and CombiMaster Plus XS." he continued. "Despite their extremely small dimensions, the XS units deliver the full Rational performance and possess the same cooking intelligence. Another innovation is the VarioCooking Center 112L, which fills a gap in the existing range and meets our customers’ wish for a powerful, space-saving multifunctional model with 50-litre capacity."

Looking ahead to 2018, Parke-Davis said that a keen focus on customer service is on the cards, with the addition of new facilities in Dubai as well as to the team.

"We have just recently opened our own Test Centre in Dubai with a full product line of SelfCookingCenter and VarioCooking Center with ConnectedCooking for live demonstrations to excite the market towards why Rational can add benefits to the region through strong relationships. This includes a new technician locally and a dedicated corporate chef as well as a key account manager. The team is now 13 people in the Middle East and we will increase this to 15 in 2018, with more customer benefits for internal sales and a business development manager."
