InterContinental DFC lands in Guinness World Records for world's largest permanent projection mapping

Accepting the Guinness World Record award were Panasonic Panasonic managing director Hiroki Soejima, marketing Middle East Yasuo Yamasaki, IHG Dubai regional general manager and InterContinental Hotels Dubai Festival City area general manager James Koratzopoulos and Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate director of shopping centres Dubai Steven Cleaver.

 The Guinness World Records has confirmed that InterContinental Dubai Festival City is hosting the world’s largest permanent projection mapping, as part of multi-sensory 'Imagine' show entitled ‘A Child’s Dream'.

The accolade was awarded to IHG Dubai regional general manager & InterContinental Hotels Dubai Festival City area general manager James Koratzopoulos; Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate director of shopping centres Dubai Steven Cleaver; Panasonic managing director Hiroki Soejima and Panasonic director of marketing Middle East and Africa Yasuo Yamasaki by a representative from the Guinness World Records.

The projection on the hotel's exterior is five times bigger than the world’s largest IMAX screen and is the world’s largest permanent projection surface. The show also contains Panasonic HD video projectors creating over 1.4 metre lumens of light, six giant aqua screens creating majestic liquid walls spanning over 1,271 square metres, 30 illuminated fountains up to 50 metres in height, and nine high-powered laser systems with 248 metre of milli-watts of laser energy.

This is the second world record attained by the 'Imagine' show, the first being the largest water screen projection in the world at its launch in December 2016.
