Al Ghurair Rayhaan by Rotana hosts "Twitter party"
The initiative by Al Ghurair Rayhaan by Rotana takes place at 9pm on August 29, and will reward Twitter users with prizes, for social media interaction
Dubai based hotel Al Ghurair Rayhaan by Rotana is holding a “Twitter party”, which takes place tonight, at 9pm on August 29 (Dubai time).
The social media event is a live Twitter chat, where the hotel will encourage participants to talk and answer questions, via the hotel’s twitter handle @ghurairrayhaan, and using the hashtag "#DubaiSummer".
Twitter participants that interact the most, or have the most useful responses, will be rewarded with prizes.
The prizes will be vouchers for use at the hotel's facilities, including vouchers for dinner at Liwan and Shayan restaurants, and a voucher for use at the hotel’s Zen Spa.
Commenting on the social media initiative, Al Ghurair Rayhaan by Rotana e-commerce manager Ferry Trinidad told Hotelier: "As we have been participating actively in international twitter chats for so long, we got inspired to do a local version of the online event in Dubai. We have been searching and thinking for an effective way of engaging with our guests in a fun environment, knowing that nowadays, social media is the best route to follow and reach out to people."
"After doing it for almost two years, we were able to increase our followers’ engagement and reach a wider community base, knowing that Twitter is one of the best ways to reach out to international markets," Trinidad added. "Due to our Twitter Parties, we have partnered with international bloggers, which helped us increase awareness of our promotions on a wider scale."
The chat will take place for one hour from 9pm tonight, and the prime topic for discussion will be summer activities in Dubai leading up to the Eid Al Adha holiday.
It will consists of four questions, which will be tweeted with the labels Q1,Q2, Q3 or Q4. According to the hotel, in order to then answer the first question (Q1), twitter users should respond with “A1” in their tweet, and so on.
