In a video posted onto YouTube by the operator’s loyalty programme, Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG), Steve Wozniak is shown demonstrating how quick and easy it is to use SPG Keyless, at W Hollywood.

He opens up the SPG app on his phone, touches it against the sensor on the door and, within a few seconds, it is open.

Starwood recently began rolling out the technology at a number of Aloft, Element and W Hotels around the world, with W Doha among the first ten to offer it. It is expected to be available at 150 hotels by early 2015.

Wozniak famously co-founded Apple Inc (then Apple Computers) with the late Steve Jobs and Ronald Wayne in 1976, and he played a key role in designing some of its early computers.
