Sparrow International to open KSA showroom
Riyadh showroom and training centre to open in 2015
Dubai-based coffee & gelato solutions specialist Sparrow International is to expand further into Saudi Arabia, with a new showroom and training centre to open in Riyadh next year.
Marc Hijazi, who partnered with Saudi firm Al Rugaib Holding Co. to launch Sparrow International, has said that the Dubai market is saturated and so the company must seek alternative routes of expansion.
“The market here is not big enough for all the competitors – there are many companies in the market and it’s more than the market can support,” he commented.
“Today I have an excellent partner in Saudi Arabia and Riyadh and in this coming year we will have the same showrooms as the one we have in Dubai."
The showroom and training centre will be housed in a facility in Riyadh owned by Al Rugaib Holding, which owns Sahara Mall in the city.
“Physically, we need to show to the customers, they need to be able to touch the products, and we need to be able to give them the training,” said Hijazi.
“All the logistics and communication with the supplier we can manage from the office but we need the platform in Saudi, we need stores, which we have already, and we need a training centre. I believe more and more in the necessity of having a training centre,” he added.
Further expansion in Saudi Arabia is to come in the future, however Sparrow Internatioal is currently focusing on the capital.
Sparrow International currently specializes in coffee and gelato solutions but has also branched out into tea, with the launch of Althaus tea from Germany.
The company supplies Hausbrandt coffee, Babbi gelato and machinery and accessories to support the production of coffee and gelato.
In its coffee machine line, the most recent brand launch is the Rancilio Class 11, which has a touchscreen display with an audio and video system.
Sparrow International exhibited at the recent SIAL Middle East on November 24 – 26 at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.
