IHG opens fifth Holiday Inn hotel in Cairo
Bukhamseen Group's 175-room hotel was formerly under the Sofitel brand
Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) has opened its fifth hotel in the Egyptian capital, with Holiday Inn Cairo Maadi on Maadi Corniche.
The 175-room hotel, formerly the Sofitel Maadi and located in the embassy district, is the second under the Holiday Inn brand in the city and is owned by the Bukhamseen Group. It is also the 11th IHG hotel in Egypt.
Rooms at the property have views of the Pyramids of Giza, as well as the River Nile, a features include a second floor pool and gym and private balconies for every suite and room.
“We are confident that this new property will deliver the comfort and quality that the Holiday Inn brand is globally recognised for,” said IHG chief operating officer, for India, Middle East and Africa Pascal Gauvin.
The hotel also has nine meeting and banquet rooms, as well as a 24-hour business centre, while F&B options include Le Clovis, offering an international buffet or a la carte menu, and Little Italy, serving a spread of Italian dishes.
It also has lobby and pool lounges, while families can take advantage of the Holiday Inn brand’s signature ‘Kids Stay and Eat Free’ programme.

Bukhamseen Group has been a partner of Holiday Inn since 1977, when it helped to open one of the brand’s first hotels in the Middle East.
