Brasserie Flo to open on UAE National Day

Classic French restaurant Brasserie Flo is set to make its regional debut as part of the Venetian Village at the Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal on December 2.

Ignace Bauwens, CEO of Abu Dhabi National Hotels (ADNH) – the project owners and managers of Venetian Village – said: "It gives me great pleasure to introduce Brasserie Flo to the region. The third restaurant to open at Venetian Village, Brasserie Flo helps diversify the mix of dining options guests can choose from at our unique waterfront destination. The brand has earned itself an exceptional reputation abroad, and we are thrilled to host this celebrated restaurant in Abu Dhabi."

The Brasserie Flo concept was brought to life by young Alsatian chef, Jean Paul Bucher, in 1968. Since then, Brasserie Flo has expanded throughout Paris including in Balzar, Le Boeuf sur le Toit, Bofinger, Terminus Nord, and in various other locations in France. It is also located in Barcelona, Brussels, Amsterdam, Strasbourg, Lisbon, Luxembourg, Eindhoven and Beijing.

French executive chef Sebastien Pinson will lead the culinary team at Brasserie Flo Abu Dhabi. Since studying French Culinary Arts at the École hôtelière de l'Institut Saint-Joseph in France, Pinson has worked across South America, the Caribbean, the United States and Europe under the likes of chefs Alain Passard, Michael Mina, Georges Morrone, Alice Waters, and Koldo Royo.

“French cuisine is extensive, full of flavour, and best enjoyed in the company of family and friends – and we have captured that full experience here at Brasserie Flo. My team and I are very excited to welcome guests to enjoy traditional French dishes in true brasserie style,” said Pinson.

Brasserie Flo Abu Dhabi has a traditional menu that includes French specialities such as soupe à l’oignon, tartare de boeuf, boeuf bourguignon and desserts including profiteroles and crepes suzette. Among the main highlights at the restaurant is the fresh seafood, which is specifically shipped in from France.

The restaurant is located at Venetian Village – part of the Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal development. Al Fanar Restaurant & Café and Inakaya- Robata Grill and Japanese Sushi restaurant have already opened their doors in Venetian Village. Meanwhile, Olives, by American celebrity chef Todd English, and Barfly, from the creators of Buddha Bar, will be opening in 2015.
