Dubai-headquartered specialist bubble tea concept Booba has celebrated its second anniversary and is expanding beyond the UAE.

Booba opened its first outlet in Dubai Mall two years ago and has now launched a franchise branch in Baku, Azerbaijan.

Another outlet in Dehli, India, is also in the pipeline to complement existing outlets in Deira, Al Rigga and Jumeirah Lake Towers Metro Station.

Businessman Kirill Kossinski established the Booba brand after spotting a gap in the market to develop his product, an offshoot of bubble tea first found in Taiwan in the 1980s, a special milk tea drink.

The Booba recipe uses fresh jasmine green tea, which is brewed regularly on site, and also features tapioca balls.

“The first two years of the Booba journey have been extremely satisfying and it is exciting to add another dimension to the portfolio,” said Kossinski.

“I have been planning to franchise the concept for some time and it is great to finally launch Booba in Baku. We have already received positive feedback from our new client base.

“The Dehli project is now well underway and I would hope to add that to the existing outlets early in 2015. The long term plan is to further grow Booba into new markets like Europe."
